Introducing… the BEAUTY EDITOR

With the start of a brand-new year approaching, I think it’s the perfect time introduce my new business, the Beauty Editor, and for those who don’t know me, to tell you a little about myself.

My name is Katie, and I am the Beauty Editor, and just over a year ago I embarked on a journey to open my own aesthetics and laser clinic in Bishops Stortford.  This has been my dream for many years and one that I feel very privileged to have finally realised, with the unending support of family and friends.

I was raised in Essex by a wonderful mother and father, and my sister and I feel like we had the best childhood ever. I am the mother of an amazing 23-year-old daughter, and after meeting my partner in 2013 I became the step-mum to his three gorgeous boys.  My children are my world… and my greatest accomplishments. My partner is my best friend and biggest supporter, and he encourages me to have faith in myself and put myself out there, something he tells me is necessary if I want to be successful. (Oh, he also edits my posts, so if you see any grammatical errors, blame him! – sorry babe).

So how did I get here?

Many years ago, whilst living in London I started my own personal hair-removal quest. The thought of not having to shave again was a very attractive prospect, but unfortunately it was not to be. Despite having seven treatments with an Intense Pulsed Light system (IPL) I saw no hair reduction at all and was very disappointed with the results. Back then there was considerably less information available on laser and IPL, and I didn’t do what I would recommend anyone interested in having hair removal does today: I didn’t take the time to research the clinic or their results, and I certainly couldn’t tell you what machine they used.

In those days, laser hair removal was not an ‘industry’ it was simply another alternative to remove unwanted hair. But today, laser hair removal is one of the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedures behind anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections. So, years after my first experience with laser and IPL, I decided to try again.  I did my research this time however, and picked a reputable clinic with industry leading equipment.  It was also then that my dream started to take shape. I trained as a level 3 beauty therapist and set about sourcing the best medical grade laser and IPL platform with the goal of opening my own clinic.

During my research, I discovered Lynton, an award-winning British aesthetic technologies company and manufacturer of specialist technologies. They have over 23 years’ experience in pioneering medical-grade devices, and I can say from personal experience that their clinical results are exceptional. I made the decision that they would be the company to power my business with the Lynton Lumina Platform.

I completed my core of knowledge and laser training with Lynton specialists in partnership with the University of Manchester. It was during this time that I met my laser-angel, Amy Jayne from Amy Jayne Aesthetics. Amy started her journey 18 months prior when she opened her laser clinic in Rainham, Kent, and she has not looked back since! Not only did Amy let me observe her whilst in clinic treating clients, she also furnished me with crucial advice and mentoring that has proved invaluable to me; what a superstar!

I have invested heavily in my clients by purchasing the Lynton Lumina, an amazing stand-alone platform that combines multiple technologies and enabling me to treat 24 different aesthetic concerns. Used by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, the Lumina provides the very best in clinical results, speed of treatment, and client comfort.

My clinic offers treatments including, laser and IPL hair removal on all skin types, anti-aging skin rejuvenation treatments that remove skin concerns such red veins, sun damage, pigmentation, leg veins and acne, and my active Q-Switch laser removes multi-colour tattoos.

During consultation, we’ll find out everything we need to know to ensure we really understand what you’re looking for. We will go through a full medical consultation to make sure you are suitable for treatment, introduce you to the Lumina, go through the process and discuss aftercare before creating a tailored treatment plan, just for you.  So, if you are considering a treatment, why not get in touch to book a free consultation?

In the meantime, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  I look forward to meeting you.

Love Katie x
